Privacy policy

This privacy policy explains how Proper Place B.V. (“we”, “us”) processes personal data when you use our webshop. We follow the EU GDPR / Dutch AVG.

2. Data we process

• Contact and shipping details you enter at checkout (name, address, email)
• Order information and communication about your order
• Technical logs from our host (IP address, browser) for security and debugging
• Cart contents stored in your browser via localStorage (not sent to us until checkout)
• Cookie / tracker preference stored in your browser (see Cookie policy)

3. Purposes and legal bases

• Order fulfillment: performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR)
• Legal obligations: e.g. tax / bookkeeping (Art. 6(1)(c))
• Site security and improvement: legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)), balanced against your rights
• Optional analytics / marketing trackers: only with your consent (Art. 6(1)(a)), which you can withdraw anytime

4. Processors / hosts

We may use service providers such as Vercel (hosting) and a payment provider when payments go live. They process data only on our instructions.

5. Retention

Order and invoice data are kept as long as required by Dutch law (often up to 7 years for tax). Account-less cart data stays on your device until you clear it. Server logs are kept for a limited period.

6. Your rights

You may request access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and object to certain processing. Contact hello@properplace.nl. You can also lodge a complaint with the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens (autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl).
